BIOGRAPHY
She received her Master’s degree in Conservation Science in 2021 from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, followed by a Ph.D. in Chemistry (curriculum: Chemistry for Conservation) in 2025, jointly awarded by Ca’ Foscari University and the Italian Institute of Technology. Since 2025, she has been working as a Research Fellow at ICMATE–CNR in Padova.
Her research expertise lies in Conservation Science applied to lithic substrates. Early in her career, she mainly focused on the synthesis and functionalization of inorganic nanoparticles and on the development of consolidants for stone and concrete surfaces. During her Ph.D., she designed mortars for the restoration of ancient Roman mosaics, including the development of sustainable additives derived from biological harvesting waste as well as self‑healing additives.
She investigated the chemical composition, rheological properties, and physical characteristics of mortars and additives using a wide range of techniques, including FT‑IR, SEM‑EDX, DSC‑TGA, porosimetric and physisorption analyses, and mechanical tests. Building on this expertise, she now works at CNR‑ICMATE on the study and development of advanced conservation methodologies for lithic substrates based on metal oxide and hydroxide nanoparticle systems
