Laurea in Chimica (Master degree at the University of Padova in 1987). Research Director at the National Research Council - Institute of Condensed Matter and Technologies for Energy (CNR-ICMATE).
Since 1988 she has worked at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). Her scientific and technological skills are in a trans-domain of chemistry and technology of materials and have been acquired formerly as researcher and then as project leader and evaluator. Her competences are in the following areas:
- Conductors and semi-conductor ceramic materials for energy applications in the medium-high temperature range (SOFC electrolytes, dense membranes for gas separation, thermoelectrics).
- PGM and alloys for hydrogen separation.
- Multifunctional nanofluids (thermal storage and lubrication).
- Material protection in harsh conditions.
Her activities are grouped into three categories: (a) Project Elaboration and Management; (b) Research Activity; (c) Teaching and mentoring skills.
She has been responsible and coordinator of several research and/or innovation projects funded by National and Regional Programs (Italian Ministry of Economics, Programme for “Research for the National Electric System” 2010-2012, 2013-2015, 2016-2018, Programme for industrial innovation “INDUSTRIA 2015”, 2008-2014, 2011-2017; Veneto Region, Programme for industrial innovation “POR CRO AZIONE 1.1.1” 2009-2012; Italian Ministry of Education and Research “Art. 12 DM 593/2000”, 2008-2011). She has participated to several national and international research projects (funding sources: the Ministry of Education and Research, the Italian Spatial Agency, the Euratom-V FP).
She has been evaluator for research and innovation programmes for the Italian Ministry for Economic Development, for many European and international RTOs and Universities, for the European Community (VII FP, COST Actions)
Since 2018 she has been deputy coordinator of the Joint Programme “Advanced Materials and processes for Energy Applications” for the European Energy Research Alliance.
Since 2017 she has been Italian point-of-contact of the Challenge 6 "Clean Energy Materials" as part of the international interministerial initiative Mission Innovation that involves the ministries of economic development, research and innovation of 23 countries.
From 2009 to 2011 she was member of the Experts Group on Science for Energy of the International Energy Agency (IEA), advisory body of the IEA Committee on Energy Research and Technology (CERT).
She was a member of the working group for the technical standard “Determination of gold in gold alloys for jewelery. Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF)”. UNI 11236: 2007, working group no. A90.00.169.0.
Since 2015 she has been National Secretary of the Italian Association of Thermoelectricity-AIT.
From 2015 to 2017 she was a member of the Management Bard of the European Thermoelectric Society-ETS
She is a member of the Italian Chemical Society -SCI and belongs to the Mass Spectrometry Division and the Enerchem Interdivisional Group.
She is a member of the Industrial Engineering PhD Faculty Board and lecturer of the course "Short overview on ceramic materials for energy applications -thermoelectricity and H2 separation" for the Industrial Engineering PhD students at the University of Padova.
She was tutor of numerous thesis of master degree and PhD.
She organized and was scientific member of national and international congresses.
H index =26 @ 25.02.2020.
She has published scientific papers and book chapters, and has been editor of scientific books. All articles (≈ 130) are published in international peer-reviewed ISI journals, such as Energy & Environmental Science, Chemistry of Materials, Materials, Tribology International, Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, RSC Advances, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Thermochimica Acta, Surface & Coatings Technology, Journal of Electronic Materials, Thin solid films, Journal of Solid State Chemistry, Carbon. As co-author, she obtained an invention patent of a smart window "Pannello a illuminazione naturale e a recupero energetico per parti mobili o fisse di infissi". Industrial invention n° RM2014A000343.
She is referee for national and international scientific journals.
