BIOGRAPHY

5-yrs Master Degree in Chemistry in 1996 and PhD in Chemical Sciences in 2006 at Università degli Studi di Padova
1997-2022: scientist at Istituto Veneto per i Beni Culturali
2022-2014: research scientist in the field of materials science at Istituto di Chimica Inorganica e delle Superfici-CNR
2014-2020: Seconded National Expert at the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) working as programme expert in the Unit B4 Physical Sciences and Engineering
2021-onwards:
Programme Manager at CNR Unità Relazioni Europee, in charge of the ERC programme at CNR.
Coordinator of the Research Office for the Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche e Tecnologie dei Materiali, scouting funding opportunities for the Department’s scientists
Research Director and Project Manager at ICMATE, leading temporary teams dedicated to conceptual design and writing of research proposals, and support PIs of funded projects.

RESEARCH ACTIVITY

My 15-yrs research activities spanned from analytical chemistry to materials science and engineering (ERC descriptors of panels PE4, PE5, PE11, SH8) and currently I mainly work on management of funded projects and support to proposals preparation for materials, devices and technologies for sustainable energy production and storage, environmental monitoring and remediation.

Since my return to the CNR in 2020, I switched from scientific research to research management. Since 2021 I am in charge of the ERC programme at CNR. My responsibilities include the support to scientists for the preparation of ERC proposals and interviews, and the implementation and management of the ERC Mentoring initiative the ERC Visiting Fellowship Programme.

As Coordinator of the Research Office for the DSCTM, my major activities include the scouting of EU, international, national and charities’ calls for research proposals in which chemistry, materials science, engineering and technology have a key role to play; the organization of customized info sessions and individual support upon request of Directors and scientists.
