BIOGRAPHY

She got her Laurea Degree in Industrial Chemistry at the State University of Milano in 1995.

She is since 2001 researcher (faculty) in the Italian National Research Council (CNR) based in Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry and Technologies for Energy (ICMATE, formerly IENI), Lecco. Her research interests cover metallurgy in general and in particular in the field of synthesis and characterization of Shape Memory Alloys. She taught metallography, optical and electronic microscopy at the Laboratories of Chemistry and Physics of metallic alloy at University of Milan Bicocca. Since 2009 she is responsible of Unit of Lecco of CNR-ICMATE. Author of over 70 publications and one patent.

RESEARCH ACTIVITY

Her research activity includes the study of:

Basic research in the field of Shape Memory Alloys (SMA), specifically in the microstructural characterization of various metallic alloys.
Applied research in biomedical applications, specifically functional analysis of components based on SMA applied in biomedical treatments.
Characterization of magnetically activated SMA.
Research and development in the field of thermoelectric materials.
Research and development on the fabrication of metallic components through Selective Laser Melting (SLM) techniques. In detail, microstructural characterization of products of additive manufacturing.

FORMAZIONE

Laurea in Chimica Industriale conseguita presso l’Università degli studi di Milano nel 1995.

ATTIVITA’ LAVORATIVA E CAMPI DI RICERCA

Dal 2001 è ricercatrice del CNR presso l’Istituto di Chimica della Materia Condensata e di Tecnologie per l’Energia (ICMATE, già IENI) a Lecco. Svolge attività di ricerca nel settore della metallurgia ed in particolare nella sintesi e caratterizzazione dei materiali a memoria di forma. Ha insegnato metallografia, microscopia ottica e elettronica nei laboratori di Chimica e Fisica dei Metalli presso l’Università di Milano Bicocca. Dal 2009 è responsabile dell’Unità ICMATE (già IENI) di Lecco del CNR. E’ autore di oltre 40 pubblicazioni e un brevetto.
