BIOGRAPHY
She graduated cum laude in Chemical Sciences from the University of Genoa in 2013 and subsequently worked as a research fellow at CNR-IENI on the Flagship RITMARE Project (2014). In 2015, she joined the European ADMACOM Project, beginning her PhD in Sciences and Technologies of Chemistry and Materials. Her research focused on investigating solid-liquid interactions in high-temperature metal-ceramic systems.
During her postdoc at Laval University (CA) (2018–2020), she worked on design and characterization of biodegradable alloys for temporary biomedical implants, earning 2 merit scholarships: 1. PBEEE, funded by Le Fonds de recherche Nature et technologies du Québec; 2. MITACS Acceleration, funded by Plasmionique Inc., Québec. She left the MITACS project upon securing a permanent position at CNR-ICMATE (July 2020).
Her research primarily focuses on designing alloys and metal-metal or metal-ceramic interfaces. She specializes in high-temperature wettability studies of liquid metals and alloys on solid substrates (metals, ceramics, and composites) and in predicting interfacial reactivity using the CALPHAD method. Her work contributes to the development of: a) brazed joints, b) refractory coatings, c) composites for aerospace and biomedical applications, among others.
She contributes to national and European projects (e.g., EU H2020 INSURFCAST, PRIMA RDCPJ) and supervises PhD students. She co-chaired twice the BIOMETAL conference (2023, 2025), reviews for international journals, and was appointed Adjunct Professor at Laval University (2024).
She is also active in public science outreach, including Festival della Scienza and EU Researchers’ Night.
