BIOGRAPHY

Researcher at CNR-ICMATE, with interest in the correlation between composition, (micro)structure and properties of functional ceramic materials, especially dielectrics, ferroelectrics and ionic conductors.

After obtaining a M.Sc. in Physics and a PhD in Materials Science and Technology, she has carried out her research activity in the field of materials science in several laboratories, both in Italy, at the University of Genoa, CNR-SPIN, CNR-ICMATE and abroad, at the Jožef Stefan Institute (SI) and for shorter periods at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Rep. (CZ), the Universities of Aveiro (PT), Al.I. Cuza (RO), Belgrade (RS). Over the years, she has consolidated her experience in perovskite-type ceramics (e.g. BaTiO3) and ferro/piezoelectric composites based on PVDF, with interest in the relationship between processing and functional properties. Experienced in powders synthesis and materials processing, and dielectric characterization of ceramics and composites.

She has participated to several national and international projects and projects with industrial partners and coordinated her research unit within one of the major Italian scientific projects, the “FIRB” projects. Co-author of publications in collaboration with Italian and international research groups. Speaker for various contributions to conferences, also by invitation. She has lectured at university, is a student and postdoc supervisor and member of the organizing or scientific committee for international conferences. Actively involved in the coordination of outreach events such as the European Researchers’ Night and in public engagement activities on materials science topics.
