BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1987 Ing. Luca Pezzato obtained his master degree in Materials engineering in 2011 and Ph.D in Industrial Engineering in 2016 both at University of Padova. From 2016 to 2021 he was post-doc research fellow and from 2021 to 2024 Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padova. During this period his research activity was mainly focused in the metallurgy field. In detail main research topics were: the production and characterization of Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) coatings produced on light alloys, the study of the corrosion properties of steels and stainless steels and the recovery of metals from PV Panels. From 2024 he is researcher at ICMATE-CNR working mainly on the production of novel metallic membranes for hydrogen separation in the frame of the NEST project.  During the years he gained great experience in materials characterization (Optical and SEM characterization, XRD analysis, Corrosion Testing, Coating production) participating also to several European projects and being the responsible of the University of Padova unit in the PRIN2022 project Cool-Vibes. He participated to several national and international conferences in the filed of metallurgy, surface treatments and corrosion. He taught courses related to metallurgy and corrosion.

Up to date he authored and co-authored about 120 papers published on indexed journals in the fields of materials science and metallurgy, with an h-index of 29 (Scopus, 2024).
