DIGITAL CHEMISTRY

DIGITAL CHEMISTRY

Digital Chemistry is an ICMATE strategic research activity which is also transversal to all the other research topics. It involves a multiscale approach to the prediction of the properties of molecules and materials and to the modeling of chemical processes of technological interest.

Finite Element (FE) analysis is used for the treatment of complex problems in mechanics of materials and structures such as contact and impact/friction, as well as to design materials with tailored optical properties.

ICMATE is active in introducing materials and chemistry databases, which provide a basis for practicing ML models.

Deep learning neural network algorithms are applied to design materials and catalytic processes.
